Institutional Approval¶
Do I need to get approval from my institution before using FindingFive?
That depends on your institution’s policies. We recommend checking with your Institutional Review Board (IRB) to see if explicit approval is required.
In our experience, most institutions don’t have specific restrictions and allow researchers to choose their own platforms. Some may ask for our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for review, which you can download using these links.
In rare cases, institutions require a formal assessment before approving the use of a third-party service like FindingFive. If that applies to you, we’ve got you covered in the next question!
My institution requires an explicit assessment of FindingFive before I can start using it. How can I get this process started?
If your institution needs an assessment, just reach out to us at [email protected] to schedule a call. These reviews typically focus on whether FindingFive meets certain security and data protection standards. We’ve worked with many institutions on this process and can coordinate directly with your administrators to help get approval.
