Collaboration and Lab Management¶
I want to invite a colleague to design an experiment with me on FindingFive. How can I do that?
You can easily add collaborators to any FindingFive study. In the study editor, click the Collaborators button in the top right corner to manage your team. From there, you can invite colleagues, adjust their permissions, or remove them if needed.
If your colleague already has a FindingFive account, they'll be added immediately. If they don't, they'll receive an email invitation to sign up. Once they create an account, they'll automatically be added as a collaborator on your study.
My entire lab wants to start using FindingFive. Does FindingFive have a lab account?
Rather than a separate "lab account," FindingFive offers centralized billing and discounted Plus 1 accounts for lab members. Plus 1 accounts have their own data storage and participation record quotas, but they're billed through a primary researcher's account at a discounted rate.
If cost is a main concern, many labs prefer to use a shared workflow where one central account, with an active subscription, creates studies and launches sessions. Lab members can then collaborate on study design from their own accounts without needing separate subscriptions.
Can I manage my lab's costs for using FindingFive without asking each individual lab member to pay?
Yes!
FindingFive makes it easy to centralize billing through Plus 1 subscriptions, which are discounted accounts linked to a primary researcher subscription. Each Plus 1 comes with its own data storage and participation record exemption quotas, but all charges are billed to the main account. This allows lab members to access FindingFive without needing to pay individually, making cost management more streamlined.
Additionally, FindingFive allows researchers to reassign session fee invoices to a collaborator. This is especially useful when a student or RA has collected data and generated an invoice but needs their PI or lab manager to handle the payment.
Can I have my RAs manage participant recruitment for me while I focus on the design of experiments?
You bet!
FindingFive's collaboration tools let you assign different responsibilities across your team. You and your students can work on designing studies, while RAs or a lab manager can be given permissions to launch sessions and handle recruitment. Depending on your needs, they can either be added as collaborators with session management permissions or as the primary owner of a study. Our system is designed to be flexible, so you can structure your team however works best for you.
